Življenjepis: Rojen 1979 v Kranju, 1998–2003 študij kemije na Univerzi v Ljubljani, 2003–2008 – doktorski študij na Fakulteti za kemijo in kemijsko tehnologijo Univerze v Ljubljani. Trenutno delo: Direktor in vodja raziskovalne skupine na Inštitutu za nutricionistiko. Raziskovalno delo: Njegovo raziskovalno delo je usmerjeno v raziskovanje na področju prehrane in javnega zdravja, sestave živil in njihovega vpliva na zdravje. Je vodja številnih raziskav, ki potekajo v okviru nacionalnih in evropskih raziskovalnih projektov. Bibliografija: COBISS-izpis obsega preko 200 enot, od tega približno 90 izvirnih znanstvenih člankov (od katerih se jih 45 uvršča v prvo četrtino področnih revij v SSCI, SCIE), 5 poglavij v znanstvenih monografijah uveljavljenih mednarodnih založb, ter številni prispevki na konferencah ter strokovni članki. Pedagoško delo: profesor na področju prehrane, avtor univerzitetnega učbenika Hranila in mentor številnim študentom, med drugim pri petih zaključenih doktorskih delih na področju prehrane (UL BF). Dodatno: Je vodja državnega raziskovalnega programa »Prehrana in javno zdravje«, ki ga koordinira Inštitut za nutricionistiko. Je član Sveta za varno hrano (MKGP), Sveta za razvoj v kmetijstvu, gozdarstvu in prehrani (MKGP) in Medresorske delovne skupine za preoblikovanje živil (MZ), recenzent v številnih uglednih revijah s področja prehrane in član različnih strokovnih združenj v Sloveniji in tujini.

Working activity: Currently director and head of research group at Nutrition Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Research activities: His research work is focused into nutrition and public health, composition of foods and their health effects. He is leader of variety of studies, conducted within national and international research projects. Bibliography: His bibliography include over 200 units, of which approx. 90 scientific papers (45 published in SSCI/SCIE journals in the first quartile of the impact factor), 5 chapters in monographs published by intrenational scientific publishers, several contributions in international scientific conferences. Pedagogical work: Professor in nutrition, author of textbook ‚Nutrients‘, mentor of several students, including in 5 completed doctoral theses (PhD Nutrition). Additionally: Head of Sloveninan national research programme „Nutrition and Public Health“, coordinated by the Nutrition Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia. He is also a member of National Board for Food Safety at Ministry of agriculture, forestry and food of Republic of Slovenia, and member of National food reformulation workgroup at Ministry of health of Republic of Slovenia. He is also appointed as guest editor and supporting as reviewer in several international scientific journals in area of food and nutrition, and member of various professional associations in Slovenia and abroad.
